Studied law at the University of Vienna (Dr. iur. 1971), followed by legal clerkship at the District Court of Vaduz and employment with a law firm in Vaduz (until 1977). Passed the bar examination in 1974. Independent practice as an attorney and partner of the law firm Ritter – Wohlwend – Wolff, Vaduz (1978 to July 2004), of the law firm Wolff Gstoehl Bruckschweiger, Vaduz (2004 to 2020), and since January 2021 of the law firm Paragraph 7, Vaduz.
Political functions in Parliament and Government from 1982 to 2005 (1982–1986 Deputy Member of Parliament, 1986–1993 Member of Government as Government Councillor for Social Affairs and Public Health, 1993–2005 Member of Parliament, 1997–2001 President of Parliament, 2001–2005 Vice-President of Parliament).
